GENERAL INFORMATION National Player Classification Board (NPCB) At the 2008 ASA National Meeting legislation was passed into Code creating the Slowpitch National Player Classification Board (NPCB). This Board comprises of 1 representative from each region and one person appointed by the President of ASA. The NPCB will work on keeping a level field of play in all divisions across the Country. Along with the creation of the NPCB this legislation also allowed for players to have the ability to individual appeal their National ASA Player Rating. In Southern California we have had the SCPL for 8+ years and have a very complete and accurate rating for our players. All of the data from the SCPL has not yet been updated to the newly created ASA National list but will be done shortly. Until this update is completed we will continue to use the SCPL as our guide for team classification.  If you have already submitted a player appeal to the SCPL then you are not eligible to submit another appeal until January 1, 2010. If you have been rated due to the team you played on being a Mandatory Reclassified Team then you have the opportunity to submit and appeal at asasoftball.com, then click on the ASA Slowpitch player database. You will see a link “player appeal” click this link and then complete the online player appeal. The deadline to submit a appeal to the ASA Slowpitch player database is June 1, 2010.
