2006 ASA WOMEN'S WEST OPEN
SLOW PITCH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
SEPTEMBER 2 - 3, 2006 - LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA
The City of Lancaster welcomes you to the 2006 Women's West Open Slow Pitch National Championship. This web site will be update with information leading up to the tournament as well as updated brackets, scores and statistics during the tournament. Six teams will be competing in the tournament with defending champions Okaki of Santa Ana, CA, back to defend their title. There will be three other teams from Southern California participating; Haft to Play, Karphone and No Chit. From Utah and defending Champions of the Hooters Championship Final is the Armed Forces team from Hill Air Force Base in Utah. From San Antonio, Texas is KMA to round out the field.

ARMED FORCES SCORE 10 RUNS IN THE TOP OF THE SEVENTH OF THE "IF" GAME AND HOLD OFF KARPHONE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE INNING TO WIN THE TOURNAMENT 20 - 16 AND MOVE ON TO OKLAHOMA CITY TO FACE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE EAST.

MANAGER'S MEETING
The Manager's Meeting and draw will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, September, 1, at the Essex House Hotel in Lancaster. The hotel is located at 44916 North 10th Street West. Click here for a map.
TEAM CHECK-IN
Teams can check-in from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Friday at the Essex House and again on Saturday starting at 8:00 AM at the Big 8 Softball Complex. All players must have a valid government issued photo ID to check-in and participate in the tournament.
GAME TIMES
Games will start Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at the Big 8 Softball Complex, with six sets of games scheduled for the day. Games will continue on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM with the Winner bracket final and the 4th place game. The Championship game is scheduled for 12:00 PM. The format of the tournament will have the teams drawn into two pools of three teams, and then play a two game round robin to seed into a double elimination bracket. The top two teams in each pool will receive a first game bye. The complex is located at 43011 N 10th St West, Lancaster. Click here for a map.
TEAM HOSPITALITY BANQUET
Schooners Sports Bar and the City of Lancaster invite all players to a hospitality function folloing the games on Saturday evening. Food will be provided by the hosts at the event.
